So Who Are You Blogees (Readers of Blogs)?
Call me stupid and out of touch, but who are the people who read all of these blogs? Are they glued to their computers and iPads all day, with nothing better to do than 
view others’ opinions, musings and tirades? Don’t they have a life? Can’t they come to their own conclusions about things without depending on other people’s reactions to worldly and/or otherwise mundane events and issues? Maybe they are opinion makers who have to troll the general consensus of the bloggers of the world to gauge public opinion (we call them politicians). Or maybe their job is to merely report to the special opinion makers (politicians with staff), so they can adjust their attitudes based on the direction of the wind. It sure gets rather windy sometimes.
I must be living on another planet, as I don’t have the luxury of possessing endless free time to indulge myself in this reading activity. There’s another big difference: I also don’t really care what anyone else thinks. I’m very comfortable being in my own little world, guiltlessly ignoring conventional wisdom and making my own decisions based on my complete ignorance of things. And that’s the way I like it.
Now having said all of that, God knows that you blogees out there need at least one other innovative voice to follow. You need someone who has an opinion about everything—and isn’t afraid to share it with the veritable tens of thousands (or just tens) of you who will follow those posts religiously. You need someone who is witty, irreverent, charming, (obviously humble), intelligent and humorous to comment on daily events and occurrences. Sadly, I have scoured the universe and determined that there is no such person. However, and lucky for you, I come very close to those attributes (“close” being a rather vague and ill-defined term), and I hereby step forward to fill that obvious void in the blogging world.
Yes, Mr. and Ms. Blog Reader out there, I’m your man. And as a self-appointed authority on everything, I will endeavor to fill your otherwise boring lives with my incessant ramblings about everything. Nothing will be left sacred when it comes to my opinions, comments, observations and reactions.
So follow me, oh blogging world, as I have so much to say. I promise to share, educate and entertain you with all kinds of nonsense every few days. Read on, as you’ll either like it or hate it. Or maybe you’ll have to read someone else’s blog about my blog to decide. Is this country great, or what?
